With just four days left before his execution for the rape and murder of his friend and co-director Constance Harraway, of the anti-death penalty organization Death-Watch David Gale, agrees to be interviewed by reporter Bitsey Bloom. This is the first interview that Gale has granted since his arrest and conviction six years ago for Constances murder. Gale was also a professor was well as the head of the philosophy section at Austin University in Texas. Never saying a word in public about the case that he was convicted of all those years but now with death just around the corner Gale finally wants to tell his story. ... The next afternoon after leaving the TV studios of the talk show Batters-Box where Gale had a debate with Texas Governor Hardin, about the death penalty he was arrested and accused by Berlin of having raped her. Even though later Berlin dropped all the charges that she filed against Gale the damage was already done. Gale lost his job at the University his wife Sharon divorced him and took their little boy Jamie with her and he was forced out of the Death-Watch organization. David Gales story at first strikes you that he was an innocent man railroaded by those in power because he was a threat to their interests and policies of law and justice. And now David is trying to prove his innocents in a last ditch attempt to save his life. But as the movie goes on with Bitsey and Zack, Bitseys partner and private investigator checking out his story it becomes very clear to those watching the movie that Gale is a true fanatic for his cause where hes no better or even worse then those that hes crusading against.
