Appeasement was a central part of Britain’s foreign policy between 1936 and 1939. Appeasement failed because Britain and France were reluctant to take quick action to prevent Germany expanding. ... The Treaty of Versailles may also have been a reason why Britain expected to go to war with Germany was because many Germans felt hatred for the Treaty, they felt they were forced into signing it. ... Hitler’s aims when he came to power were, the treaty of Versailles should be torn up so Germany could build up its armed forces and begin to re build national pried for his country. ...
