UNDERSTANDING RELIGION

With attending this course I hoped to learn more about other cultures and their religions. The first goal I wanted to achieve was to gain a better understanding of religious persecutions and war in other countries heard in the news everyday. ... For so many people religion is an organized system of beliefs, ceremonies, prayers and worship, all dedicated to some Supreme Being, God, idol or Deity. ... According to Encarta On-line Dictionary, there are five different definitions of religion. ...
My definitions of religion are as follows: Religion is a belief system that provides guidelines for living morally. ... Religion is an important part of everyday life for many societies. ...
