The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service today announced it is listing beluga sturgeon as threatened under the U.S. Endangered Species Act. The listing takes effect six months from its April 21, 2004 Federal Register publication. This finding will commence with a full status review of the species, and once the review is complete, the Service will determine whether to propose listing the species as either threatened or endangered.
