Facts The world's longest fence known as the 'dingo fence' is located in Australia. It is 5614 kilometres long and runs through central Queensland. It is 1.8 metres high and is designed to keep sheep safe from Australia's native dog. Climate Australia has the dryest climate in the world. It ranges from tropical in the north to temperete in the south. Australia's seasons are the opposite of the northern hemisphere. When there’s summer in Norway, there’s winter in Australia. That means that when there’s snow and skiing here, there’s sun and beach parties down there. Australia is the sixth largest country in the world, but has the lowest population density. It only lives two people per square kilometre. There is a two and a half hour time difference between the west and east of Australia and the time difference between Norway and Australia is almost nine hours.
