Describe the effects of the Blitz on everyday life in Britain
The Blitz had several effects on everyday life in Britain, some of which were severe, and some of which were not so severe. The overall consequence of the bombing was the destruction of homes, lives, and families, and it made the Blitz of 1940 a very difficult time. ... German bombers were taught to aim at light, so it the blackout was somewhat effective in stopping them, despite its other damaging effects. These effects included the highly increased rate of car crashes and accidents, since people could not even see each other in the darkness. Another everyday effect is that the production of shelters was introduced to help to protect people from the bombing. This meant that people would go out and buy either an Anderson or Morrison shelter, set it up, and sleep in it every night for the rest of the Blitz.
