Non-Linear Texts
Good morning/afternoon ladies and gentlemen. Today I will tell you about our new learning of non-linear texts compared to the old fashioned way of the linear texts. Non-linear is defined as not in a straight line, or relating to a system of equations whose effects are not proportional to their causes. ... Linear however is described as having only one dimension or a “straight” line. ... Some linear texts are labelled classics and this is why we use to study this type of text, as they were “classics”.
Some of the features in the new non-linear texts are that there is so much more texts to choose from, ranging from books to computers. Technology today has been a big enhancement of the non-linear way, opening up a whole new world of amazing new texts and revolutionising the way we study at school. With the range of texts we can use all or any of the following texts: Internet, videos, television, books, etc. Without being restricted by the old linear ways.
The two non-linear texts I have chosen to show you today are Starcraft and Command & Conquer. These two texts are both video games, and are both non-linear texts.
