Handgun Issue The Regulation of Handguns and Violence Reduction act of 2004 deals fairly with a lot of valid concerns with the availability of handguns in America today. Background checks seem essential in understanding the individual you are selling a gun to, which is why it only seems logical to have a licensing process that that not only checks your legal and mental history, but requires you to take a test that verifies your ability and knowledge with the use handguns. Furthermore liability insurance is a great idea, as it will cover the costs and damages associated with accidental shootings and property damage caused by the misuse of handguns. However many of the parts to this proposal are overkill and can infringe on an individuals rights. The no more than six guns bought per year idea would put gun dealers out of business; small dealers go to gun shows and buy an entire year worth of stock at once.
