All Because of Nationalism

... In efforts of gaining Nationalism and soldiers to fight in the war, teachers lied to their students, governments lied to their citizens, telling them that war was good and they should do this for their country. In the book, All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque, Paul and his classmates would be joined by the fellow boys in their generation and together they would grow up entirely to fast on the front lines of WWI. ... From the women and children working in the factories to produce weapons and supplies for the soldiers, to the actual soldiers themselves sitting in trenches waiting because at any moment they know they could be killed. The only people that were not really affected by the war was government officials, it is not as if they are going to go fight on the front line and give their lives because of a sense of Nationalism.
