Reaction to the Old Testement

I thought the Hebrew Bible was very interesting. I grew up in a Roman Catholic family, so I have heard all the stories from the Bible through Church and CCD class (Sunday School). I never actually sat down and read the Bible. I just thought all it talked about was sacrifice to God and how to be a good Christian. As I read it now, I realize that there is a lot more to the Bible. There is a lot more history of the real world in there than I originally thought. It actually is a very good source of history of the Ancient world. I also like certain individual stories. One of my favorites is the story of Joseph. Growing up we always heard the story of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream coat. So I already knew the main story of Joseph and I find it interesting. It’s ironic how they were all for Joseph being sold into slavery, but when Benjamin is accused of stealing the silver cup, they all beg for mercy.
