In 1994 the Violence Against Women Act was passed. Today this is a huge part in funding for programs that help in the prevention of dating violence. “Since fiscal year 1995, a major source of funding for programs to reduce rape, stalking, and domestic violence has been the Violence Against Women Act,” (Congress). These types of programs are what is helping prevent dating violence from spreading.
