In our vast world we know as Earth, people can claim any part of the world as their home, but numerous exotic, rare and beautiful creatures, essential to the survival of our ecosystem, are limited to tropical rainforests, only six percent are left on the world’s surface, to continue their existence. ... One of which is the Strawberry Poison Dart Frog, beautifully colored and among the most toxic creatures found exclusively in the rainforests of Central America, that has been extensively researched to learn more about its highly developed protection system, repro-duction, unique parental care, and bene-fits to the hunting and medical world.
The Strawberry Poison Dart Frog species is obviously apart of the Animalia Kingdom, also known as the Metazoa, because all animals ranging from few cells to organisms weighting several tons are members of this kingdom. ... Like many uninformed, their first thought was the Strawberry Poison Dart Frogs is not associated with the Chordata Phylum because frogs don’t have tails; however, the appearance of a growing tadpole perfectly illustrates the explanation above before they mature into frogs.
The species Dendrobates Pumilio, more commonly known as the Strawberry Poison Dart Frog, is also a member of the Lissamphibia Class, the Anura (frogs and toads) Order, the Dendrobatidae Family, and the Dendrobates Genus. Strawberry Poison Dart Frog, along with other frogs from the same genus, are usually the largest in size compared to the other genus in the Dendrobatidae Family (poison dart frogs) measuring in about one half to two inches long. ... The Strawberry Poison Dart frog and the other twenty-five species in the Dendrobates all lack the signature strip the other genuses have that run from the inner arms to the inner thighs. ...
There are more suitable habitats for the Poisonous Dart Frogs, but due to deforestation and isolation the Dendrobates Pumilio exist nowhere other than the moist tropical rainforests of Columbia, Nicaragua, Panama, and most abundantly in Costa Rica. The Strawberry Poison Dart Frog lives near any bodies of water like rivers, streams, or even puddles of water while hunting and living under leaves and in plant debris on the forest floors. ...
Unlike most frogs, observers would easily find species of the Dendrobatidea Family, including the Strawberry Poison Dart Frog, in plain sight on the floor or on plants during anytime of the day.
