Coursework Coursework One Due Date: 12th March 2004. For those students who have to resit or defer their coursework the due date will be 5th August 2004. This coursework is worth 10% of your total grade. Individual Work: You will be required to work independently and submit one report. Description of Coursework 1: You are required to design and produce a partial implementation of an E-Commerce (EC) web site. You need to choose an unusual product for online purchase. Selling CD's or mobile phones is not permitted as too conventional, please use your imagination when choosing a product. Your project will employ the DAGMAR strategy for driving the user to the point of purchase. You website should consist of 2-3 pages, which deal with demonstrating a product of your choice, explaining its competitiveness, giving detailed information about the product. You should demonstrate your understanding of HTML and JavaScript for this Coursework. Your project should include the implementation of at least three JavaScript functions. One should be able to navigate between these pages or be dynamically directed from one page to another, however, you are not required to pass data between the pages. Avoid the excessive use of graphics for this assignment. All of the HTML and JavaScript code in your web site should be your original work, no copying or "borrowing" of code from other sources including the Internet is allowed for the coursework. You should write your code from scratch and avoid using HTML code generators. Keep a backup copy of all your work! Your work should be documented in the form of a short report. The report shall contain running instructions for your website, a list of the relevant files, one or two screen shots of the user interface of your site and a hard copy of all files which contain Java script. The complete source code for the website should be submitted on a 3.5" disk attached to your report. You submit your report to the Student Office. At the Student Office you will be given a receipt, which you need to keep at least until the feedback for your coursework is returned to you. Copyright issues Your website may include links to other sites, and may include pictures from those other sites.
