In June 2003, most cities implemented a plan that smoking would be banned in public facilities. The Ban stopped smoking in public facilities that didn’t have eighty percent of its sales in liquor. Recently the ban was revised and banned all smoking in public facilities. ... This being a moral solution to stop smoking in a long run, is it ethically correct to ban the smoking under the first amendment right to the freedom to assemble, even though it is harmful to those who are nonsmokers. ... If smoking isn’t illegal why is smoking being banned in public facilities?
Smoking should be banned in public place, public being of or concerning the people as a whole. Banning smoking in public places isn’t just a question of taking away one’s freedom for the benefit of another; it is something that is in the best interest of people as a whole. ... By allowing smoking in public places it is the freedom of non-smokers that is being restricted.
