Royalty also ate a variety of meat, fish and fowl like beef, mutton, pork and wild game. QUESTION 6 List the steps involved in the process of mummification. 1) All the internal organs were removed from the dead body, apart from the heart. And were then placed in canoptic jars. The brain was removed through the nose with a metal rod and discarded. 2) The body was packed and covered with natron (a salty drying agent) and was left to dry out for 40 or so days.
