I began playing soccer when I was 7 years old and I have never once ever scored a goal. You, see, I’ve always had this phobia about making a goal. Whenever I came face to face with a goalie I would either pass the ball to someone else or just stand there until finally the ball would be taken away from me. I don’t know why this is; either it’s because I’m afraid that I might make a mistake or for some other inscrutable reason, but I knew somehow I had to face my fear. It all started on a beautiful Saturday morning as I was driving to my soccer game with my dad on the passenger side bopping along to “Dancing Queen.” The breeze was kicking in so I knew it was a good day for a game. When we finally arrived I thought I was early because most of my teammates weren’t there yet. As I approached Coach Joshua he let out a sigh of relief, “Thank goodness you’re here.
