The criterion for my assignment was to produce a genre film, edited with diagetic and non-diagetic sound. The length would be five minutes or under. We chose teenage horror/romance as our genre. No number was allocated to our repertoire of dispensable shots, thus leaving film pace in the hands of our creativity. The film we produced was of a low budget and therefore relied on style & ingenuity rather than special effects. We begun with a good idea although possibly clichéd in films of a similar genre. A zoom out from a red solution fogging the frame revealed itself to be but a drink, red in texture, fore-boding in the nature of that which follows. Alignment of shots entailed an initial establishing shot taken from inside a room. The room catered for the indulgeance of a house-party environment during its finishing hours, low key lighting is an indication of closure to the party. A medium long shot of our protagonist walking along a corridor suggests her Vulnerability.
