Australia a working mans paradise
Publishing Task 2 During the early 1900’s, Australia was seen as a working man’s paradise. This was mainly due to these reasons: working conditions in the beginning of the 20th century, Controversy surrounding working hours and the basic wage, exclusion of the women from the work place and the link between the rich and poor. ... Australia used these tactics to gather more workers and use them in their work forces. Working conditions during the beginning of the 20th century where very different from what they are today. Working places were dirty, which could make a lot of the workers sick. This made the employers create a workers compensation incase someone gets hurt during working hours. Working hours could range from eight hours a day to thirteen. ... The working conditions were very tough with someone people dieing in the work place. ... This is why working conditions were very tough, but compared to the rest of the world they were quite good. That’s why Australia was seen as a working mans paradise.
