Worn Path by Eudora Welty
In Eudora Welty’s “A Worn Path”, we meet an elderly black woman, Phoenix Jackson, who’s determination to reach town sets her off on a long journey. Though many obstacles lay in her path, none of them proved more tougher to overcome than the hunter she encounters along the way. ... The worn path can represent phoenix’s life which has been worn down by the ignorance of others, the scene between the hunter and phoenix shows us this. Though her life may have been worn down by people such as the hunter she gets reborn, growing more stronger and wiser.
