Lady Macbeth Multi paragraph Essay
Lady Macbeth was one of the key characters in this Shakespearean tragedy. Macbeth, her husband, had been told by three witches, known as the Weird Sisters, that he would be Thane of Cawdor and later to be king. Having come back from a battle where he had just slain the Thane of Cawdor, the king proclaims Macbeth as the new Thane of Cawdor. Once Lady Macbeth hears about this prophecy the witches had made, her ambition grows. ... {At Inverness, Lady Macbeth reads a letter from Macbeth telling of his meeting with the witches. ... {When a messenger arrives with the news that Duncan is coming, Lady Macbeth says "unsex me here" and fill her with cruelty, taking from her all weaknesses that come from being woman. When Macbeth arrives, she greets him and urges him to "look like the innocent flower, but be the serpent undert" and states that she will make all the preparations for the kings visit and subsequent murder.
