2. Using the Communist Manifesto explain how workers will be better off in a communist society. The communist manifesto tries to explain the goals of communism, and the theory underlying the movement. It argues that the exploitation of one class by another (class struggle), are the motivation force behind all historical developments. “Class relationships are defined by an era’s means of production. However, eventually these relationships cease to be compatible with the developing forces of production. At this point a revolution occurs and a new class emerges as the ruling one.” Marx speaks of capitalism as an unstable environment; he says that its development by “Increasing contradictions” and the equilibrium of the system is precarious as it is to the internal pressures resulting from its development. Marx believed that if there were only one class, there would no longer be a class struggle. There would no longer be a need for all the trappings of class warfare such as money, nation-states and governments.
