Socio economic failures of the Black Man

Studies of demographic, socio-economic and cultural characteristics of African American families have shown that overall, African Americans report lower incomes, lower education, higher unemployment and poverty rates, and higher mortality and suicide rates than most White communities in the United States. Studies have also shown that approximately forty-four percent of Black families in the United States are female headed and tend to be extended to include aunts, uncles, grandparents etc. ... All these socio-economic and cultural features of African Americans largely deviate from that of their White counterparts and thus the factors responsible for this disparity have to be determined in order to find a lasting solution. In my opinion the main cause of these deviations are the various racial impediments within the socio-economic structure of America and to a lesser degree, the flaws within African American cultures and behaviors. ... During the era of slavery Black males were made properties of the American government and had to work indefinitely for White people, to obtain their freedom. They were snatched away from their wives and children, who were forced to enter a life of economic hardship and poverty.
