In 1896, the Supreme Court constituted the "Separate but Equal" rule which appeared to be rightfully justified that it protected both black people and white people; however, it was also under the same rule that black people had been heavily suppressed. The idea of "Separate but Equal" is not only unworkable; it also promotes the society to maintain racial segregation and various prejudices against black people. The "Separate but Equal" rule creates both inequality between black and white and appears to be biased towards privileging white people. This law indicated that white people and black people would be separated as long as they were equal. ... In receiving "equal opportunity" for education, the teachers in "colored" schools were always lower-educated than the ones in the white schools.
