the penguin turned around
of course you are my friend
you helped me find who I am
I used to think I was a duck
but now I know I am a penguin
This is the greatest thing anyone has ever done for me
You see my mother died when I was born
So I was an orphan
I felt like I didnt fit anywhere in society
I tried to be a fish
But I couldnt stay underwater for so long
So I tried to be a frog
But I couldnt frollick or jump so high
Eventually I gave up
I became a recluse
Until one day I saw a duckling
and I could do everything he could do
Except I couldnt understand a word he was saying
He kept saying quack
I dont know what that means
So I was lonely again
Like I have been my whole life
Until I met you
and I discovered upon your belly
my identity
that I am a penguin
Thankyou my friend
for helping me out so much
I hope one day I can return the favour
and help you with problems in your life
The hippo sighed in content
you have helped me little penguin
I now have a friend
Ive never had a creature
who has offered me so much compassion
nor have I ever had a creature appreciate me so much
You have taught me about friendship
how companions should relate
That friendship isnt just about playing
But also about communication
That you must have both these elements
to maintain friendship forever
So thank YOU my friend penguin
for teaching me so much
and offering me the guidance
that has now helped me
to grow and become part of the society
I guess we have helped one another
Like what friends are all about
Let us meet up regularly
so that we can catch up again
for now I must go and find a friend
who I left at the dumster
We were playing hide and seek
but he was so slow at moving
by the time I counted to one hundred
He was only a metre away
Turtle and me are going to talk
and have a meaningful conversation
similar to one which I just had with you
My lovely penguin friend
Maybe when I reconcile with turtle
Than we can get together again
all three of us
Come by here tomorrow
I so look forward to meeting you again
And so the story of the hippo,
the turtle and the penguin
Who knew this was how the story was going to end
Who knew these three different creatures
could one day all become friends?
