Politics is considered as a dirty thing in IBA. There are not too many people who like it or like to participate in it. This is why every written piece of material that has been written in this context refers to a candidate as blood thirsty politician a.k.a. Gamer. Before IBA, I only knew gamers who played in the nearby gaming center. What surprises me is the willingness of politicians to be referred as gamers, maybe it makes them feel different. Indeed, they are different. I write this article because of my good knowledge of IBA politics and on the insistence of my political friends. As one of them said in his usual Punjabi accent “Yaar, Kabhi to politics ke bare me changi gal karle”. Firstly, I would like to introduce the newcomers about some facts and figures of politics in IBA. According to the present constitution, a candidate is eligible only if his GPA is above 2.8, must be a student of BBA 5, BBA 6, or MBA 3. So far no candidate from the Directs has won the election. From 1990 till 2000, all treasurers elected were hostelites. The current treasurer is the first hostelite treasurer after 2 years of non-hostelite treasurers. No female candidate has ever won the election in BASC, last elections nearly witnessed the emergence of the first female office bearer.
