The ageing population will effect everyone, everywhere. Health care is in crisis already, people are dying through lack of access to quality medical and nursing care. Health care workers are constantly trying to alert government to the crisis they are facing but fear that there cries have fallen of deaf ears. Ambulance drivers and paramedics sit outside hospitals with patients lying in the back, but are unable to hand the patient over to the hospital for medical care because the hospitals have no beds available. Why don't they have beds available, because more and more of the beds in hospitals are being occupied by elderly patients. These poor soles cannot go home but are awaiting a bed in an aged care facility, and they wait and wait and wait.
