macbeth the tragic hero
Throughout the play Macbeth significantly changes his personality. At the start of the play Macbeth is portrayed as a brave soldier whom is devoted to his king, but is corrupted by the witches prophecies. In the beginning Macbeth is not inclined to perform the cruel deeds, but Macbeth is very ambitious, courageous and his desire for power are the things that lead him to his tragic downfall. Macbeths character is physically strong and mentally weak, and it is his weakness that instigates the downfall and change in Macbeth. Macbeth felt that he needed to prove his manhood to Lady Macbeth.
