Gun Registration Debate Good morning class and Mrs. Turner, as most of u probably know my name is Dan Newby. My opposition has stated some excellent facts about guns and how our government chooses to place legislature upon them. This morning I will mostly be discussing how we should not change the laws of gun control, and that the laws should remain the same. Yes our government has made some serious mistakes in the past, yes we have overpaid billions of dollars, and yes as future taxpayers this is very upsetting, but the worst is over. Our parents paid for the government’s mistakes and what’s done is done. We are the new generation who will follow the baby boomers in the economy, its up to us to ensure that our society is not over ruled with gun crimes. First of all I would like to tell you how gun registration helps to crack down on criminals. More than 1000 Canadians die each year due to gun injuries, the total cost of gun deaths is around 6 billion dollars per year. Police, crime prevention experts, public health organizations and victims groups support gun licensing and registration as worthwhile investments.
