„h The battle angered macbeth and he then lead attacks to beat the norwegians
„h Duncan is the king of Scotland, he meets the bleeding sergeant
„h Banquo and Macbeth fought well in the battle
„h Macbeth put macdonwalds head on the battlements of the castle
„h The thanes hear that the thane of cawdor sided with norway
„h Macbeth gains the honour of thane of cawdor
Act 1 scene 3
„h The witches appear on the heath and await Macbeth
„h Macbeth arrives with Banquo to confirm that the witches are real
„h Witches prophesize ¡§So foul and fair a day I have not seen¡¨
„h Macbeth does not know he has attained thane of Cawdor
„h Macbeth¡¦s title is thane of glamis
„h Macbeth begins to question who the witches are the witches say ¡§lesser than Macbeth and greater¡¨ noted
„h When Macbeth questions the witches further they disappear
„h Ross and angus come and tell Macbeth he has been given the title thane of cawdor
„h Macbeth considers the witches second prophesy to kill the king ¡V Duncan
„h Macbeth is unfamiliar with his new title
Act 1 scene 4
„h Duncan inquires whether or not the previous thane of cawdor has been killed, his son Malcolm assures that he has
„h Duncan begins to regret the fact that he placed trust in the traitor thane of cawdor
„h Macbeth enters with banquo and duncan thanks them for their loyalty and bravery
„h Duncan decides to make malcolm the throne of Scotland ¡V this position was supposed to be inherited not elected
„h Duncan plans to visit Macbeth at his home in Inverness
„h Macbeth leaves to prepare his house for the visit
„h King Duncan leaves with Banquo
Act 1 scene 5
„h Lady Macbeth is at home and she reads a letter from Macbeth telling about the meeting with the witches
„h She is scared that he is not ruthless enough to kill Duncan ¡§too full o¡¦ th¡¦ milk of human kindness¡¨
„h She thinks that Macbeth has enough ambition but lacks the gumption to murder duncan
„h She sends a message for him to hurry home so that she can prepare him for the murder he must commit
„h When Lady Macbeth gets wind that the king is visiting her home she says ¡§unsex me here¡¨ and asks to be filled with cruelty and to have all her womanly compassion to be taken away
„h Macbeth arrives
„h Lady Macbeth tells him she will make all the preparations for the kings visit and also his murder
Act 1 scene 6
„h Short scene, Duncan arrives and inquires about Macbeth¡¦s whereabouts
„h Lady Macbeth offers to take Duncan to where Macbeth awaits
Act 1 scene 7
„h Macbeth is alone, he is scared and in agony about whether or not to kill Duncan
„h He states that the kings murder is a terrible sin
„h He doesn¡¦t struggle as much with the horrible idea of regicide as with the actual going about murdering a man who trusts him
„h Lady Macbeth enters
„h Macbeth ¡V ¡§will preceed no further in this business¡¨
„h She tells him he will only be a man when he commits this traitorous act of murder
„h She states that she would take her own baby and dash its brains out if she had to in order to succeed in her goals
„h Lady Macbeth ¡V ¡§screw courage to the sticking place¡¨ and she explains in detail how they will go about murdering the king
„h They plan to wait until he is sleeping then get the bodyguards drunk and blame the murder on the guards
„h Macbeth is astonished at her cruelty
„h Macbeth ¡V ¡§bring forth male children only¡¨ since she is too bloodthirsty to have girls
„h He decides to follow through with her plans
Act 2 scene 1
„h Banquo comes in with Duncan and Fleance, Banquo doesn¡¦t agree with the witches prophesies and he restrains against the desires in his dreams
„h Macbeth enters and Banquo asks him about the prophesies and Macbeth denies remembering it .
