“ WARREN PRYOR ” In this poem the author portrays two different point of views. The parent’s point of view is different from the son’s point of view. This poem is referring of poor farmer’s life and struggle farmers had to make to send their son to school where he could get an education to better himself. For instance “ slaving to free him from the stony field”, the key phrase illustrate that his parents have obviously worked hard to give their son the opportunity to better himself and by sacrificing so he could become more than just a farmer. One of the other phrase, “They blushed with pride” clearly portrays that they were so proud of him getting a diploma.
