I. Introduction A. According to the “Mastering Windows XP Professional Ed. 2” the oldest form of the computer network is commonly referred to as the sneakernet. Easiest way to transport data by saving to disk and walking to another computer. B. The sneakernet was not very efficient, but was and still is the best way, for some purposes, to get info from place to place. C. Today there is a much more efficient and quicker way to transport information. That way is called the “Network”. D. Most of us use networks at work or school. Whether we are sending an email to a friend in Mexico or printing using a computer lab to write and print a report, we are probably using a network or multiple networks.
