Good evening family, friends, faculty and staff members, superintendent, and fellow classmates of Northwest High. Dr. Seuss once said, “You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself any direction you choose.” And for the last 13 years, we have been steering ourselves mentally, emotionally, and physically down the path that lead us to this very event, our graduation. We will be given an infinite number of chances to get us where we are destined. Chances to win or to lose in the games we played and will encounter. We have been taking chances since the first time we stepped into our kindergarten classes just to eat crayons and paste. When we chose to run away from the opposite sex because they had cooties or when we took on seven teachers in one school day instead of just one. The bad haircuts, the overused makeup, the clothes, the tears from our first heartbreak; you know when the person we loved checked no in the note we wrote to them asking do you like me, check yes or no.
