The Tragedy of September Eleven On Tuesday morning, September 11, 2001, the U.S. is attacked by terrorists in New York City, and the world changes forever. Two United Airlines planes crashed in New York City and still have their effects today. September 11, 2001 was just another day for new Yorkers. People were everywhere and traffic was congested. Suddenly out of nowhere, a United Airline plane crashes into the World Trade Center. Debris exploded on to the streets and the surrounding blocks. People raced out from their apartments shouting and screaming onto the streets to see what happened. As they look upon the burning building, tears and sorrow comes to their hearts. Hundreds of firefighters and ambulances race to the scene to provide help to the injured and to the ones that are still trapped inside. Death toll was raised to thousands after truly comprehending what just had occurred. This kind of a brutal action was a summed up as a great act of terrorism against the country. Hours later, The President George W. Bush declared war on terrorism. He also asked the congress for 20 billion dollars to help and rebuild the current situation.
