Shelby Kuns Hour 2 Informative Speech: Rough Draft Everybody strip and go naked! Joy bringer. Ale, lager, bock, pilsner, and stout. These are just a few of the many things beer has been called throughout history. Beer has come a long way in the past twelve thousand years. Way back in 10,000 B.C., the Mesopotamians as well as the Sumerians began brewing. Following the Mesopotamians, the Egyptians discovered beer 4,000 years later. Different cultures had various ways of creating what they considered the perfect drink. People of the Middle East created ale by using fermented honey. The Mediterraneans came across beer by accident. The king of Mediterranean loved to eat grapes. On one occasion, his servants left the grapes in their jar to long. After getting them out of storage, they noticed the grapes had turned to liqiud. The king ordered someone to taste this new mysterious drink. After one sip, a man spat the grape juice to the floor.
