Before “The Day” Randy Bragg was a descendant of the founders of Fort Repose - a good-natured lawyer who failed as a politician. Randy lived on his share of the proceeds of a trust his father established, and on his share of the proceeds from his family’s orange groves. ... The Bragg house was much larger than a bachelor needed, so most of it went unused. Randy was very lazy Randy was a heavy drinker. ... Randy didn’t take life serious.
After “The Day”, however, Randy learns to care more about the well being of the community and becomes a selfless hero.
