For my classification essay I will talk about the different jobs that are in the nursing field. There are many different places to work in the nursing field. I will choose three jobs in general to classify. They are: a hospital, a nursing home and a doctor’s office. I will then talk about the job requirements that apply with the position, the experience and things you may see in that job site, and the pros and cons of each. When you are working at a hospital there are many nursing positions available. There are Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Certified Medicine Aid (CMA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA), and more. Most people that work in a hospital have to work 12 hour shifts or even longer. They may work full time, part time or on call (PRN). Most of the time the nurses and doctors end up staying later because they cannot leave until their paper work is complete. When working in the hospital depending where you are working you will see a lot of interesting things. If you work up on the floor where the patients are then you may see a variety of things like broken bones, chest pain, phenomena, and other illnesses. In the hospital there is no telling what kind of patients will come in next.
