Savage Inequalities

Savage Inequalities The importance of public education has been emphasized in American history throughout time and more specifically from the Civil Rights movement to the present time period. Equality in education was one of many issues that the Civil Rights movement fought for. Despite having many great public schools in this country the United States also contains some terrible public education systems. Why is it some schools have more resources then others and why in this day in age are schools still segregated? Jonathan Kozol attempts to address and answer these problems by visiting and interviewing many school districts all along the east coast of America. This inequality of education has led Jonathan Kozol to try and make the general public more aware of this problem in his book. Kozol tries to explain and prove the need for reform in the current education system.
