High School Worker
While a few high school students need jobs to help their families financially, most students obtain a job simply to have extra spending money. These students should not have jobs for the following three reasons. First, students need to concentrate on their schoolwork. With a job, a student will have fewer hours for studying and may not get his or her studying completed due to time restrictions. A teenager’s grades may be affected because of this lack of studying. A student needs an average of three to five hours per day for studying and a part time job will eliminate some of this time.
