U S S R s Well Intending Constitution

After reading the chapter of the 1936 constitution of the U.S.S.R. entitled ‘Fundamental Rights and Duties of Citizens’, one can hardly overlook the similarities between the fundamental ideals at work in the minds of the writers of this constitution and the constitution of any country which deems itself democratic. The striking resemblances between some of the articles in this chapter and our very own Bill of Rights makes one realize that even though the U.S.S.R. had a strong constitution with well- thought out ideals and principles, they had no strong government, and certainly no principled leader to fulfill the goals of the constitution.
