Bro. ... So it made me think, has the public school system failed that badly? ... And yet it seems, according to the public school systems that we’re not a very bright people. ... But this verse should be the fuel that propels us to teach our children christian values. Even though I am not a parent, I would think coming from a christian point of view, that we would choose for our kids to attend a christian school during the most influential and pivotal times in that child’s life. Being a Bible believing christian is hard enough in this world, but now the kids of today are going to public schools that the older generation once went to, except they’re in a totally different world. ... The norm in the public schools in that day was for every class to say the pledge of allegiance in the every class every morning and in some cases even have prayer. But in today’s schools most likely the pledge allegiance isn’t said any more and if they do say it, a child can refuse to say it on grounds that it contradicts their religious freedoms because the pledge says “one nation under God”, as we saw last year. Also, in the schools that our parents attended, the kids were allowed to carry a Bible to school in their backpacks and read it when they wanted. ... So, how are our kids suppose to live a christian life? ... Is it better for the kids to attend a public school and endure all the hardships so that they can be strong enough to live in this world when they get older, but take the chance of losing their souls to a Godless world? ... 5%, of kids attend private schools in America . This statistic actually surprised me a little because I didn’t think that that high of a percentage of our nation’s kids attended private christian schools. I guess I didn’t really know that much at all about christian schools so I called Bro. Barcus, the Calvary Christian School Principal, and he agreed to answer a few of my questions over the phone.
