Let’s take a closer look at the question of ‘once save, always saved? ... Paul tells us that we are saved by grace. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. ... The first argument that supports the “once saved, always saved” idea is this: to lose salvation makes God a liar. ... " They misapply and misunderstand scriptures simply because they have never been saved (Watkins).
One is not saved because one has enduring faith. One is saved because at a moment in time when one expressed his faith in the Lord. ... It is a once-and for-all transaction that can never be undone. Because of the nature of Gods grace, once one becomes a Christian, one is always a Christian (Unknown). ... To imply that one is truly saved today but might get into an ‘unsaved’ state in a few months or so seems to indicate that we are saying God is fickle and untrustworthy. ...
