The plot of the short story “A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings” revolves around the character of a winged man who has fallen to earth, but even though the story revolves around this character, the story’s true focus is not on the angel, but on the people that get involved around this man. ... “ A very old man with enormous wings” is a criticism of the mentality of society towards the unknown. ... Then the neighbor came to take a look at the old man and she said “He’s an angel”, but the reason for the angel to be present there was because that “ He must have been coming for the child” who was sick by the time the Angel showed up in the story. ... But they forgot he is a man as well an has feeling,
As the story goes in progress other carnival attractions arrived in town, such as the “show of the woman who had been changed into a spider”, but you would think: Why is she not bother like the angel at all?
