Reengaging the North: War or Peace in Northeast Asia
Upon observation of this article written by Brendan Howe, it was simple to understand many of the given concepts on theories because they have already been fully explored in class. ... Howe then applies rationalism to the issue with North Korea and offers a rational deduction as to whether or not North Korea with engage in war. ... This section of the article also discusses the rationale of whether or not the United States should enter a second Korean War. Because North Korea does not have any oil and cannot be implicated in the events of September 11th, there must be rational scenarios that would lead the US to war. Howe discusses three situations and logically (rationally) refutes both ideas that Kim Jong-Il is both crazy and contemplating war.
