Melbourne cup 2004 it was a hot day everyone was inside with the air conditioners it was 40 degrees plus, highest temperature ever recorded on a Melbourne cup. Mr Mike Allinson had won the Melbourne cup for the last seven years and was the favourite going at $1. Punters all over Australia were betting thousands and millions of dollars on this horse it was the best horse anyone had seen in racing history his name was Bart. His record was 137 wins and 1 loss and that was his very first race that he lost ever since then he has won 137 races straight better than any other horse. The first six races were very slow because of the heat the horses couldn’t stand it they got dehydrated in the heat 50% of the horses hadn’t even finished the race because the trainers thought the heat might do some major damage to their horse. six horses already have pulled out of the Melbourne cup and it was looking very good for Bart. It was one hour before the big race all the trainers were nervous about the condition and they hoped it suddenly cooled down so their horses would have a better chance of winning the had cold towels and ice cubes and ice jackets on the horses to keep them cool they were also giving the lots of food and water.
