Almost immediately after September 11, our country united and shared similar ambitions to bring the perpetrators of these heinous crimes to justice and to protect our country from future terrorist attacks. As our nation mourned we simultaneously felt a growing sense of pride in our country; we felt proud to be Americans. When we looked to our leaders for what to expect next, we believed our government could make no wrong decision. Now, two and a half years later, it is easy to criticize some of the decisions that were made in response to 9-11. Perhaps some were decided too quickly and others were made only to show that our country was doing something, but it is difficult to say that alternative tactics would have been more beneficial to Americans because, in fact, we will never know.
