Blazing Saddles Blazing Saddles, a comedy by Mel Brooks, has to be one of the most twisted, off the wall, and just plain weird movies that has ever been made. It is a knock-off of a western movie, but, in this flick, anything goes. Racist and sexist jokes are common place and anything that can be made fun of will be in this movie. The movie starts out with a guy named Hedley Lamar (Harvey Korman) who is trying to destroy the small town of Rock Ridge so he can build a railroad through it. The townsfolk of Rock Ridge fear for their safety so they ask the governor for a sheriff to protect them. Hedley, who is an assistant to the governor, hears of their request and decides to send a black man to become the next sheriff of Rock Ridge.
