The Employment’s Rights Act 1996
This act covers all the main rights that an employee has such as:
All employee’s are entitled to an itemised pay slip which shows gross and net pay and details of any deduction
An employee asked to work on Sunday can ‘opt-out’ by serving notice
All female employee’s are eligible for maternity leave and can return to work on the same terms and conditions as before
An employee cannot be dismissed for acting as a trade union official or a health and safety representative
Employees must be allowed time off for jury duty and anti-natal care
Employees off of work due to illness may be allowed 26 weeks pay
The Sex Discrimination Act 1975
This Act makes it illegal for any one to be discriminated due to their gender either directly or indirectly.
