The purpose of this report is to elucidate and elaborate upon the requirements stipulated by the client for the development of a website for the “University Games”. This report critically analyses the two premier features of a website; user requirements and web design. The scope of this report is limited to the aforementioned website and covers only the user requirements and webpage design elements that are deemed necessary for the website.
The user requirements section documents the specifications that the client deems necessary for the users and documents the specifications that the prospective users deem vital. The appropriate data has been collated from interviews with the client and the users of other sport’s websites and from participants who expressed an interest in a website previously for past University Games. ...
The web design section of the document is dichotomised into functional elements and design elements. ... Functional elements cover the use of navigational aids, download speed and website search functions. Design elements cover the use of consistency of design throughout a website, the use of colours and the use of images throughout a website. These subcategories have in turn been analysed into their component parts and have provided useful information for the creation of a website.
This report’s raison d’etre is the client’s need for a multi-purpose functional website that streamlines previously inefficient processes. The client requested that the process be “reengineered” (convert former processes to efficient information technology solutions) to generate a website that is appealing and functional. ... 0 User Requirements
