After graduating from college Greenspan joined forces with William Townsend to begin the Townsend-Greenspan consulting firm (ABC News). Small but influential under Greenspan’s leadership, the firm provided research, forecasts, and other services unlike other firms that aggressively seeked new clients. In 1967, Greenspan eventually became involved in politics by serving as advisor during the 1968 presidential campaign, with the title of director of domestic policy research.
