When I look back now, with a much broader sense of understanding and without any fear of consequences, I start to question the true values of my religion, which was a big part of my childhood. ... I can only say this because I got the chance to look back and compare the whole situation to what I am part of today, a more open minded society which at list values equality in most cases. ... That day I got the confirmation on their stand, and I understood why they have some nonsense doctrines like: why children from the age of seven should start fasting without them understanding the reasons of fasting, why a married couple can not get communion without one another because according to the rules of the church, not the bible, if one of them is not willing to make the commitment, the other has to ask for a divorce because that person is holding back their partner from being one with God, and so many other similar doctrines which are written by man intending to prove their devotion to their religion, but in truth are pushing away people from the church.
